Notice to all applicants from ICAM2003 Organizing Committee (May 29, 2003)
RE: Treatment of applicants from the region and countries affected by Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS)

As of today, ICAM General Secretary Office accepts all the applications for registration, and receive the payment for registration fee by all the applicants whether they are from SARS affected areas or not.

Unless SARS calms down by the end of August, ICAM Office, however, may turn down the entries of those from SARS-affected areas. Specifically, we may deny the applicants whose domicile is the area where Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare of Japan, World Health Organization (WHO) or other similar organizations officially issued travel warnings in the wake of epidemic of SARS. In the case the Organizing Committee deny to our regret, the acceptance notification of those applicants will be suspended and accordingly, registration fee will be fully refunded.

About Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS)
Since February 2003, WHO has received reports of SARS from various parts of the world. SARS has affected many countries. The Japanese government is acting on many fronts to ensure Japanese preparedness. Currently, there is no local transmission of SARS in Japan.
