Outline:

Honda has been conducting a research on humanoid robot since 1986 as part of studying human beings. In the year 2000 we unveiled ASIMO which aims for coexisting with and helpful to human, since then we have been tackling its evolution. I am talking about the history of our research and development, from its start to the current status.

SOMIYA Award

The 2012 Somiya Award for international collaboration in materials research has been awarded to a research team which is comprised of 5 members from countries: UK, USA, Japan, and Spain. The team leader is Professor John A. Kilner (Imperial College London, UK). The team members are Professor Harry L. Tuller (MIT, USA), Professor Tatsumi Ishihara (Kyushu University, Japan), Dr. Jose Santiso (CIN2, Spain) and Assistant Professor Bilge Yildiz (MIT, USA).
