Scope:

Rechargeable batteries are now a key component in the advanced information society, which have been powering portable electronic devices including notebook PC’s and cellular phones. They are anticipated to play a new important role for realizing an environmental-friendly society as energy storage devices in electric vehicles and smart grids. This symposium will include fundamental and applied aspects of electrochemical energy storage. Papers are solicited addressing recent advances in the science and technology of electrochemical power sources. Particular attentions will be paid to new materials for rechargeable batteries, and experimental and theoretical studies relating to power sources or their components.

Topics:

  • New materials for rechargeable batteries.
  • Synthesis and design of new electrode and electrolyte materials.
  • New battery systems.
  • Analytical techniques for battery materials and battery systems.
  • Theories relating to rechargeable batteries and battery materials.
  • Kinetics, dynamics, thermodynamics, modeling, and simulation.
