On December 9, 2025, MRS-J (President: Dr. Shunichi Arisawa, Auditor, NIMS) and MRS-K (Vice President: Professor Byungha Shin, KAIST) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The purpose is to further strengthen collaboration between the two MRS organizations and their members, and invigorate international joint research by planning and hosting joint symposium annually, alternating between Japan and Korea.
The first bilateral symposium will be held at The Global Conference of Innovation Materials 2026 (GCIM2026; May 31–June 4, 2026, Jeju Island, Republic of Korea).
